About Prerana Nursery School
The word ‘PRERANA’ stands for inspiration. Prerana Nursery School was started in 2014. Founded by the Society of the Sacred Heart, religious sisters dedicated to the education of women. The Society of the Sacred Heart was founded in 1800 in France.
The Prerana Way
We orient programs essentially toward enabling the children to experience their own needs and feelings, to explore themselves and their work and thus come into their own. The school aims at imparting a sound education for all irrespective of caste, creed, religion or financial background, for the all round development of the child.

Our Principal
Our Principal Sister Fatima Azavedo is trained in Early Childhood Education and Development at Ort India Institute, Mumbai. The saying “the aim of education is life itself, not just a preparation for life”, truly reflects our Principal’s persona. She took charge as Principal of Prerana Nursery School in 2014 and has been admirably holding the post since 9 years. She is the bridge between the staff, children and parents. She is the inspiration behind the running of the school, making it a warm and inviting nest for the child.

Mission
Sacred Heart education is framed by the assumption that education is a developmental process that lays the foundation for the students to become integral persons, people who live lives of integrity. As Sacred Heart Educators, we are primarily concerned with the development of the whole person. Within an atmosphere charged by the presence of the divine, we engage each student’s heart, mind, and will. Considering the realities of the world and the profound challenges young people face in light of the emerging future, we aim to form our students on a path towards transformation and hope by providing an effective education that includes the formation of character. Sacred Heart Educators intend to instill in young children the skills and attitudes that enhance critical consciousness and compassionate action.
Vision
We, the Sisters of the Congregation of the Sacred Heart commit ourselves to promote the service of education as the primary means by which the Society would carry on its mission of communicating the Love of the Heart of God.
Our commitment is made to serve young and make them conscious of their rights. We stress on imparting value based education with goals including Prayer, Personal touch, Preference for underpriviledged children, Practical knowledge and participation.
Our Vision is to mould every potential into a dynamic individual and most pursued citizen of the country and a responsible individual, playing a vital role in education in form of co-curricular and extra curricular activities through which they learn and develop potentials.
